From July 15 to 18, 2026, at the University of Aveiro, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the 8th edition of the EMCEI Conference – Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration will take place, locally organized by CESAM and by the Department of Physics. This international event will bring together researchers, experts, and professionals from various scientific fields related to the environment and sustainability.

EMCEI 2026 focuses on the integration of scientific knowledge to address complex environmental challenges, with particular emphasis on topics such as climate change, natural resource management, coastal and marine systems, pollution, biodiversity, and sustainability. The program includes scientific sessions organized by thematic areas, oral and poster presentations, as well as invited lectures by leading experts, promoting an interdisciplinary and applied approach to current environmental issues.

João Miguel Dias, researcher at CESAM/DFis, professor, and Director of the Department of Physics at the University of Aveiro, is part of the event organization as Local Chairman.
