On November 15, the BioLiving Association will organize the 9th edition of the BioFÓRUM Conference, with the theme “Biodiversity and Fire: How to Coexist?”, in Albergaria-a-Velha.

CESAM will participate in the event with Paula Maia, a researcher at CESAM/DBIO, whose work focuses on post-fire forest ecology, addressing the main challenges and opportunities in managing areas affected by wildfires. Her research emphasizes vegetation regeneration, biodiversity, and ecological restoration in Mediterranean ecosystems.

The BioFÓRUM program will include several lectures by experts from various fields related to the main theme, as well as a roundtable discussion. Throughout the day, the event aims to discuss the impacts of wildfires on nature conservation and to identify solutions for a more resilient coexistence between communities, ecosystems, and fire.

The 9th BioFÓRUM is organized by the BioLiving Association, in partnership with the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha, under the CIRA Natura program, supported by the Intermunicipal Community of the Aveiro Region through PAPERA 2025.
