On May 18, from 15:00 to 16:30 (CET), the first webinar of the renewed Alternet Seminar Series will take place, dedicated to the theme “Biodiversity Conservation in the Age of AI.”
The seminar will feature two short presentations followed by a joint discussion, bringing together experts from Alternet member institutes. José Guerrero and Tamara Murillo (GESBIO) will address the risks associated with AI-generated wildlife images and videos, while Benjamin Cretois (NINA) will explore the potential of AI for large-scale biodiversity monitoring.
This event provides an opportunity to reflect on the emerging role of artificial intelligence in biodiversity conservation, including ethical challenges and new tools to support research.
Participation is free, subject to prior registration.
