Better Data, Better Research: A Hands-on Workshop

29/04/2026
14:00 - 17:00

Date: 27 April 2026
Time: 14:00–17:30
Room: 3.5.13.1
Capacity: Limited to 15 participants

Well-managed research data is essential for ensuring compliance with funder requirements, increasing the visibility of research outputs, and supporting long-term reuse. FAIR data principles provide a framework to make data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable — but what does this mean in practice?

The workshop“Better Data, Better Research: A Hands-on Workshop” will address these questions by presenting practical approaches, tools, and examples to support effective data management. The session will conclude with a hands-on demonstration on how to deposit data in  DUnAs, the University of Aveiro institutional repository.

This workshop will be particularly relevant for researchers who:

  • Work with large or complex datasets;
  • Publish in journals requiring data availability or supplementary materials in repositories;
  • Are involved in projects funded by the European Commission or other funders with open science requirements;
  • Supervise research teams and wish to implement good data management practices;
  • Aim to increase the visibility, reproducibility, and impact of their research outputs.

The workshop is free of charge, and registration is mandatory here (until 17 April).

Places are limited to 15 participants and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
