Pint of Science 2023 is taking place from May 22 to 24, with the mission of bringing science closer to the general public, making it accessible and understandable. Sessions are held in bars and relaxed environments, providing a space for participants to interact with expert scientists from different fields.
In Aveiro, on May 22, researcher Ana Sousa (CESAM/DBIO) will address the topic: “Our Ria,” aiming to discuss the relationship between seagrass and climate change with the question: “Seagrass and Climate Change: Friends or Foes?” Seagrass, marine vegetation present in the Ria de Aveiro, plays a crucial role in coastal ecosystems and is affected by ongoing climate change. Ana Sousa will bring to the discussion the challenges and impacts faced by this vegetation in the face of global warming and other environmental transformations.
