This year’s edition of the Ciência Viva Christmas Conference promises a fascinating journey into the depths of the Portuguese sea, exploring topics such as marine exploration and preservation. Under the theme “From the Depths of the Sea to the Bottom of the Plate,” Ana Hilário and Ricardo Calado, experts in deep-sea exploration and biotechnology, will be the guides in this scientific immersion.

With free admission, subject to registration and limited to the venue’s capacity, the event guarantees a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, allowing participants to reflect on the challenges faced by the world, particularly by Portugal, in promoting knowledge and preserving oceans and seas.

The session will not only address the exploration of the marine depths and the importance of preservation but also delve into the influence of biotechnology in responding to the dietary needs of a constantly growing global population. Participants will gain insights into how discoveries in the distant ocean depths can directly impact what we consume.

Free admission, subject to registration.

Limited reservations to the venue’s capacity.
