The international conference Ocean and Human Health, organized by the National Committee for the Ocean Decade (CNDO), will take place on 11–12 December 2025 at the auditorium of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) in Lisbon. The event aims to promote a multidisciplinary dialogue on the benefits, risks, and impacts of the relationship between the ocean and human health, bringing together experts in marine sciences, medicine, health and social sciences, as well as policymakers, representatives from the private sector, and civil society.

CESAM will take part in this event as an institutional partner, contributing to the scientific discussion on the interconnection between the ocean and human health. Several CESAM researchers and staff members will be present — both as speakers/presenters and as institutional representatives — reinforcing CESAM’s commitment to initiatives that promote ocean sustainability and its influence on human well-being.
