MEC 2026 – 8th Conference on Estuarine and Coastal Morphodynamics will take place from 8 to 10 April 2026, at the VA2 Auditorium of the Department of Civil Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon), bringing together researchers, technicians and decision-makers to discuss the physical processes governing estuarine and coastal dynamics.

The event addresses topics such as estuarine and coastal dynamics, methodologies and technologies applied to coastal zones, coastal risks, impacts of climate change, and the management, protection and conservation of coastal areas, promoting the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge towards a more sustainable management of these systems.

The conference continues a cycle of meetings initiated in 2011 and includes the involvement of CESAM in the organising committee through Paulo Silva, CESAM researcher and professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Aveiro. CESAM is also an institutional supporter of the event.
