As part of the celebrations of International Microorganism Day 2024, the Institute of Higher Studies of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences (ACL), in collaboration with the Portuguese Society of Microbiology (SPM), the National Committee for the Ocean Decade (CNDO) and the Portuguese Committee for the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (CP-COI), organize, on September 17th, Tuesday, an afternoon to promote Microbiology. The session’s theme is: MICROORGANISMS IN THE DECADE OF OCEAN SCIENCES. Recognizing the urgency of managing ocean-related activities for the sustainability of the planet, the United Nations proclaimed the “Decade of the Ocean”, to be implemented from 2021 to 2030. The motto is: “The Science We Need for the Ocean We Want”.
This session is open and will take place, in person, in the Session Room of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, as well as on the Zoom platform (meeting ID 93609500879). The recording will also be available on ACL’s YouTube. The session will take place in Portuguese.
