“Transdisciplinary Approaches Inspired by Nature” Seminar

The seminar “Transdisciplinary Approaches Inspired by Nature”, organised by Professor Mário Pacheco (CESAM/Dbio) and researcher Cláudia Mieiro (CESAM/Dbio), will take place on 3 October 2025, from 14:00 to 18:00, at the Auditorium of the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering (DEMaC), University of Aveiro.

The event will bring together experts in environmental law, architecture, agriculture, chemistry and biology, with the aim of exploring innovative strategies inspired by nature to address contemporary challenges. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the seminar seeks to provide new perspectives and practical tools for implementing nature-based solutions across different areas of society.

  • Teresa Tellechea (Teresa Tellechea Architect & Teresa Tellechea Art’chitect, Coimbra) — Sustainable architecture and basic principles of bioconstruction
  • Ricardo Leitão (Centre for Functional Ecology – Science for People & the Planet, University of Coimbra) — Nature-inspired solutions for sustainable agricultural systems
