The 4th edition of the Expo Fish Portugal Innovation Award funds new and bold ideas and projects for new seafood products, solutions for more sustainable fishing and aquaculture, as well as new equipment, solutions, and digital services. Both individuals and organisations are eligible to apply. The winning idea or project receives a prize of €5,000.

Categories

The theme of the competition is ‘Innovation and research related to the seafood sector’.

The categories are:

a) New seafood products;

b) More sustainable fishing and aquaculture;

c) New equipment, solutions and digital services.

Prize

The competition will award a monetary prize of € 5 000 to the winning project in each category. An honourable mention will be awarded in each category. All projects will receive a certificate of participation in the competition.

Eligibility

All individuals, namely higher education students enrolled in a bachelor’s, postgraduate, master’s or doctoral programme at a higher education institution in Portugal, teachers) or legal entities, namely companies, start-ups and research centres, are eligible to apply for the prize.

Participants may only submit one application.

How to apply

Project applications must be submitted in the form of a written report in non-editable PDF format. Applications must be registered using an appropriate form (in Portuguese).

The application form must be completed in Portuguese, but other documents may be attached in English if necessary.
