The Innovation Awards Roullier reward projects proposing innovative solutions aligned with Groupe Roullier’s activities (soil, plant and animal nutrition, agri-food). In this edition, the main theme is marine resources, particularly how they can become sustainable and responsible solutions for agriculture. There are three categories, from fundamental science to Proof of Concept, and a specific award is also available for PhD students.  

Awards

• Exploration Award: aims to support R&D projects with a technological maturity between 1 and 4 on the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) scale. It aims to consolidate the innovative concept and explore its potential within a collaborative framework. The Winner will have the opportunity to develop the research project in partnership with the organiser and a financial endowment of between €100,000 and €300,000.

• Scale Up Award: aims to support a solution that is already structured and validated at the prototype level, with a technological maturity (TRL between TRL 5 and 8). It will provide concrete support to consolidate the solution, scale it up, or deploy it to the market. The Winner will be granted the opportunity to accelerate the project with the organiser. The acceleration of the project may take several forms (e.g., mentoring, technical incubation, market access) depending on the needs identified by the winner in the application form and the resources available from the organiser. In addition, the winner will receive a prize of up to €50,000 to accelerate the project.

• Young Talent Award: open to students only, all levels up to and including PhD students. It aims to provide concrete support to enrich the winner’s career and explore new opportunities through tailor-made support. The winner will benefit from the mentorship of an expert from the Groupe Roullier and a grant of up to €10,000 to finance one or more career development actions (e.g., participation in conferences, training, purchase of professional materials).

Eligibility

It is specified that the project submitted may not relate to the same subject as a project already carried out or in progress with an industrial third party.
