The UFAW Early Career Animal Welfare Researcher of the Year Award recognises the achievements of scientists at an early stage of their career who have made significant contributions to improving the welfare of animals. The award is open to students who are currently studying for a doctoral degree and to individuals who are within six years of the end of their PhD work. The winner receives £ 1,000.
The Universities Federation for Animal Welfare (UFAW) works with the animal welfare science community worldwide to develop and promote improvements in the welfare of animals through scientific and educational activity.
Nominations may be made on behalf of another individual or a candidate may nominate themselves. Nominees must be aware that they are being nominated for the award. Candidates may be based anywhere in the world.
