The 2027 edition of the ERC Consolidator Grants are now open for applications. The grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators (PIs) at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Applicant PIs must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal. Successful Consolidator Grant Principal Investigators must have already shown research independence, for example by having produced several important publications without the participation of their PhD supervisor.
