The EU-PotaRCh COST action, has an open call to fund Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) and Dissemination Conference Grants (DCG). Focusing on forest by-products like Potash, Tar, Resin, and Charcoal (PoTaRCh), the project highlights their significance in traditional forest use and their role in industrial history. The project also explores related products like tannins and pitches, shedding light on their impact on European heritage. Two STSM s and two DCGs are expected to be funded (€2,000 and €1,500 each, respectively).

Short-term scientific missions (STSMs)

Short-term scientific missions (STSMs) are institutional short-term visits for the specific work to be carried out to a host organization located in a different country than the country of affiliation by a Researcher or Innovator.

Elegibility

• Candidate is a member of EU-PoTaRCh and commits to participate in one of the outputs of the action; If you are not yet a member of this COST Action you can follow this link and inform the Chair of your interest in be part of the project.
• Candidate is involved in an official research programme as a PhD student or postdoctoral fellow;
• Candidate must be employed by or affiliated with an institution, organisation or legal entity that has a clear link to research;
• The STSM should specifically contribute to the objectives of EU-PoTaRCh.

Funding

Up to a maximum of €2,000 in total can be awarded to each successful applicant. Bear in mind that the STSM grantee must pay in advance for tickets and the cost of the accommodation.

Duration

STSMs must have a minimum duration of 5 calendar days.

Dissemination Conference Grants (DCGs)

Dissemination Conference grant funds an oral presentation in a high-level conferencefully organized by a third party, i.e. not organized nor co-organized by the COST Action EU-PotaRCh. The presentation should significantly increase the visibility of the COST Action in the research community, attract additional participants and stakeholders, and disseminate Action results to relevant end-users.

Eligibility

The candidate must be a EU-PoTaRCh member employed by or affiliated with an institution, organization or legal entity with a clear relationship to the deliverables of EU-PoTaRCh. If you are not yet a member of this COST Action you can follow this link and inform the Chair of your interest in be part of the project.

Funding

Up to a maximum of €1,500 in in total can be afforded to each successful applicant. Pay attention that multiple applications to several COST Actions by the same person to attend the same conference is forbidden,

How to apply

All applicants must send their submitted grant application form and the relevant supporting documents via the e-COST system. Please note that for the STSM you will need letters from the host and home institutions so do the application in advance
