Internship projects for sea turtle conservation and rescue in Greece

31/05/2026

Deadline: May 2026

ARCHELON, a nonprofit conservation organization, runs a number of volunteer projects for the protection of sea turtles and their habitats in Greece every year. The projects are taking place in 8 locations which are the main sea turtle nesting beaches and feeding grounds in Greece as well as at ARCHELON’s Sea Turtle Rescue Centre, near Athens. For 2026 they are offering 9 project opportunities for full time volunteers as well as 8 project opportunities for field leaders and will welcome internships for both types of participation.

The main goal of the volunteering is record and protect sea turtles, their nests and hatchlings on the nesting beaches, as well as treat injured or sick turtles at the Rescue Centre. ARCHELON also take visitors to educational Beach Walks and Sea Turtle Rescue Tours, inform people and raise public awareness about ocean conservation and carry out fundraising activities.

There is a commitment to a minimum duration (4 weeks for field projects, 5 weeks for the Rescue Centre, or other).
