MSCA funds researchers at risk

14/01/2025

Deadline: 14 January 2025

The 2024 ‘Researchers at Risk’ Call, funded by Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) aims to provide further support for national and international organisations working with researchers at risk in order to enhance and professionalise their activities. Support should further facilitate and strengthen cooperation and linkages between European, national and institutional initiatives and programmes, increasing awareness of why researchers are at risk, as well as identifying and delivering the best possible solutions to the challenges these researchers are confronted with.

Researchers at risk include researchers, scholars and scientists at all stages of their careers who are experiencing threats to their life, liberty or research career, and those who are forced to flee or have been displaced because of such threats. Some researchers at risk have recognised refugee status, asylum status, or similar protection status.

However, a more significant proportion of those seeking the assistance of NGOs specialising in the field of scholar protection are outside the refugee process, seeking or holding temporary visas/work permits through visiting research/scholar positions at host institutions in Europe or elsewhere, outside their home countries.

There will be an EU contribution of € 1.5 million available over 36 months to this action.

Application must be done through the Funding and Tenders Portal (HORIZON-MSCA-2024-RR-01).
