Deadline: 26 April 2026
Integrated Research Infrastructure Services for Climate Change Risks (IRISCC) is an Horizon Europe-funded project designed to empower society to understand, predict and build resilience to climate change risks by providing access to innovative research infrastructure (RI) services. IRISCC brings together a diverse network of RIs, including observatories, experimental facilities, modelling capabilities, and advanced data infrastructures, spanning environmental and social sciences across various domains. This collaboration provides a range of services for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders engaged in climate change risk management. You can now apply to Transnational (physical, remote, and hybrid) and Virtual Access to these RIs.
Services
IRISCC has a vast Catalogue of services which can be accessed on-site, remotely and virtually.
Transnational Access provides researchers with the opportunity to access advanced research services across Europe, completely free of charge. These services include:
- On-site access: Visit a facility in person to carry out experiments, use instruments, or work directly with local experts.
- Remote access: The facility team performs the measurements, analyses, or operations on your behalf—no travel required.
- Hybrid access: A combination of on-site and remote work, designed to offer flexibility and efficiency.
Beyond the access modes, IRISCC provides training and preparatory resources.
Eligibility
Any individual or team from academia, government, civil society, or industry may apply. Early-career researchers (including PhD students) are especially encouraged.
Applicants must access RIs and services in a country different from their own.
Funding
Successful applicants will be granted full access to IRISCC services, installations, and data. Travel and subsistence of up to €2,000 per proposal are available.
How to apply
After identifying the relevant service(s) in the Catalogue, it is recommended that you reach out to the provider of the selected service(s) before submitting your application. This step is crucial to ensure that your project aligns with the service provider’s capabilities, clarifies any questions you may have, and verifies that your research needs are technically and practically feasible.
Applications are done through a dedicated platform.
