Deadline: 1 February 2026
The Fondation Michel Serres (Michel Serres Foundation) organises every year the Michel Serres Prize for Interdisciplinary Theses. This award aims to reward a doctoral thesis that draws on at least one discipline from the exact sciences, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science or life sciences, and at least one discipline from the humanities and social sciences, including but not limited to philosophy, sociology, anthropology, literature, history or geography. The prize consists of one cash award of €3,000.
Applications are open to candidates of any nationality who have obtained a doctoral degree. The submitted thesis must have been defended within the three years preceding the application deadline. Theses written in both English and French will be accepted, however those written in English must be submitted with a translated extract in French.
Besides the €3,000 award, the Foundation will also highlight the theses of up to eight other candidates who were not selected as winners.
