CESAM is a partner in the BlueActionAA project, which provides funding for pilot actions in the Atlantic and Arctic regions

BlueActionAA is a new project funded by the Horizon Europe programme, in which CESAM participates as a partner, represented by Ana Lillebø, researcher at CESAM/DBIO. The project brings together institutions from the Atlantic and Arctic regions and aims to support communities in the implementation of actions that promote the restoration and protection of marine, coastal and freshwater ecosystems, contributing to the European Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”. Through the mobilisation of local actors, BlueActionAA seeks to foster the development of solutions tailored to regional needs, promote the reduction of aquatic pollution, and support the transition towards more sustainable blue economy models by providing funding for pilot actions, as well as technical support and capacity-building activities.

The first funding call, Community-Led Pilot Action (BAAC-01), is now open and provides financial support for pilot projects developed by consortia proposing innovative actions in the Atlantic and Arctic basins. This funding is accompanied by technical mentoring and capacity-building opportunities throughout the implementation of the actions. An Expression of Interest form is also available, allowing teams to signal their intention to apply in advance, receive updates, and participate in information sessions during the open call period.

All information on eligibility criteria, guidance documents, the Expression of Interest form and access to the application can be consulted here.
