A delegation from the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), China, visited the University of Aveiro (UA) with the aim of exploring opportunities for cooperation in various research areas, including the environment — one of the fields in which CESAM stands out at both national and international levels.
The Chinese delegation, composed of Yuanyuan Li, Vice Director of the School of Automation, and professors Zhiqin Zhu and Xin Huang, was welcomed by representatives from several UA research units. CESAM was represented by its Director, Amadeu Soares, who presented the main research lines of the centre and its ongoing international projects in the areas of sustainability, ecosystems, and environmental technologies, with particular emphasis on the extensive collaborations already established between CESAM and Chinese universities and research institutes.
In addition to CESAM, the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of Aveiro (IEETA), the Telecommunications Institute (IT), and the Institute of Biomedicine (IBIMED) were also represented, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of research conducted at the University of Aveiro.
Founded in 1950, the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications is one of the Chinese universities integrated into the country’s strategic plans for priority development, recognized for its strong commitment to technological innovation and applied research.
