Documentary “Women from the Sea” at the Renato Araújo Auditorium

On September 25 at 4:30 p.m., the Renato Araújo Auditorium, at the Rectory of the University of Aveiro, will host a screening of the documentary Women from the Sea – Significant Gestures. The session is open to the public and invites the community to discover inspiring stories of women whose lives and professional careers are deeply connected to the sea.

The screening in Aveiro marks the Portuguese premiere of the European episode of Women from the Sea – Significant Gestures and is part of the final event of the WIN-BIG project, coordinated by Helena Vieira, a researcher at CESAM/DAO.

Produced by Help Images, in collaboration with the European WIN-BIG project, the documentary showcases the many ways in which women contribute to the Blue Economy, from research and innovation to fisheries, entrepreneurship and coastal communities. Through personal testimonies and striking images, it highlights the passion, resilience and leadership of women who are helping to build a more sustainable future for the oceans.

Participation is free and open to all. It is an opportunity to discover different paths, experiences and connections to the ocean, and to learn about some of the women who are shaping the future of the Blue Economy in Europe.
