Glória Pinto, Researcher at CESAM/DBIO, appointed as the national representative on the Management Committee of the COST Action on molecular regulation in plants

Glória Pinto, researcher at CESAM/DBIO, has been appointed as the national delegate to join the Management Committee of COST Action CA24152 – EPICROPS (Epitranscriptomics and ncRNAs for climate change-resilient and sustainable crops), a leading European scientific network that brings together experts in molecular biology to develop more sustainable and climate-adapted agricultural crops.

With recognized expertise in plant physiology and in assessing plant performance under different environmental conditions, Glória Pinto will contribute to ensuring that the scientific and strategic decisions of the EPICROPS Action are validated by multidisciplinary and complementary teams, linking molecular responses to the phenotypic and functional traits of plants.

Her participation strengthens national scientific capacity in emerging fields such as epigenetic and post-transcriptional regulation in plants, which are essential to understanding the molecular mechanisms of stress response, developing innovative crop improvement strategies, and supporting the construction of more resilient and productive agricultural systems.

The EPICROPS Action will start in October 2025 and will run until 2029, within the framework of the European COST programme (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), promoting collaboration among researchers from over 30 countries through scientific meetings, specialized training, and international researcher mobility.
