The main objective of the SEAlgaePower project is to develop innovative technologies in which microalgae can treat and valorise nutrient-rich wastewater from aquaculture and seafood processing industries, reducing their environmental impact while simultaneously producing biomass for the sustainable development of novel ingredients.

The University of Aveiro (UAveiro) is involved in the following Work Packages:

WP1. Project coordination and management

WP4. Microalgae biorefinery (lead by UAveiro)

WP5. Prototype development (including the evaluation of ingredients with nutraceutical potential)

WP6. Environmental and socioeconomic assessment

WP7. Communication, co-creation synergies, and exploitation of results.
