
The WASTE2FEED project aims to contribute to the development of more sustainable production systems by promoting the valorisation of agro-industrial residues through insect farming. Despite the rapid growth of this sector, important challenges remain, including the variability of available residual streams, the efficiency of production processes, and the integration of existing scientific knowledge.
To address these challenges, the project will develop an artificial intelligence-based tool to support the analysis and integration of scientific information, facilitating the identification of solutions that promote more efficient resource use and enhance the sustainability of insect production. The project is expected to strengthen circular economy approaches, improve the efficiency of converting organic residues into high-value biomass, and support evidence-based decision-making within the sector. Furthermore, the proposed approach will facilitate knowledge transfer and provide a foundation for future applications across different production systems.
