Area: Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Sensors
The research has been centered on the development of sensors and analytical systems to be applied to the fields of environmental monitoring (air and water), quality control of pharmaceutical drugs, food and drinks, as well as analysis of exhaled air to detect health problems.
Sensors have also been used to detect phase transactions, biodiesel pour point, HPMC gelation and starch gelatinization.
More fundamental work is linked to the understanding of the phenomena responsible for the response obtained with sensors based on piezoelectric quartz crystals and of the interaction between the analyte and the recognition film.
