Ecotoxicological studies usually evaluate the effects of pollutants by considering a continuous contact of organisms with them. This is factual in environments where contamination is distributed evenly or in cases where organisms cannot escape to other areas. However, when the dispersion of contamination is heterogeneous, some organisms can detect the risks of continuous exposure and migrate to more favourable areas, leading to a loss of local biodiversity. This project, aims to offer a novel tool that allows simulating the chemical heterogeneity of the environment, to evaluate how the interaction between pollution and other elements of global change alters the spatial distribution of biodiversity and its ecology.
