Call for projects in the area of climate change adaptation and risk assessment

The CLIMAAX Horizon Europe project consortium launched the second call for regions and communities to implement the CLIMAAX methodological Framework and the supporting Climate Risk Assessment Toolbox and carry out their regional and local multi-risk assessments. Only individual applications from public bodies and non-profit legal entities are eligible but the University of Aveiro may participate as a subcontractor. Selected projects will receive up to 300,000 € for 22 months.

The CLIMAAX – CLIMAte Risk and Vulnerability Assessment Framework and ToolboX (GA 101093864) is a Horizon Europe project that will provide financial and practical support to improve regional climate and emergency risk management plans. The consortium comprises climate risk assessment and emergency response experts, regional authorities responsible for risk management, regional and national Civil Protection Agencies, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Benefits for selected beneficiaries

  • Funding: Up to300,000 € lump sum to implement the methodological framework and use the supporting Toolbox for multi-risk climate assessments.
  • Access to the multi-risk assessment Toolbox: Includes data and risk assessment procedures, enabling regions and communities to assess the effects of climate change on a diversity of risks and impacts at the regional scale across Europe.
  • Methodological guidance: On the tools and technical details of the multi-risk assessment methodologies, and their implementation at the location of interest.
  • Technical advice and support: Through the CLIMAAX helpdesk to resolve issues related to the use of the Toolbox, including how to use local data and approaches.
  • Outreach and engagement events: Organised by CLIMAAX to promote shared learning and mutual exchange through the project Community of Practice.
