The Research Centre for Sustainable Agro-food Production (GreenUPorto/INOV4Agro), the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and CIIMAR – Interdisciplinary Centre for Marine and Environmental Research, in collaboration with the Portuguese Soil Science Society is organizing the Annual Meeting of Soil Sciences under the theme “Soil as one Health Pilar” and which will include the following topics:

– Soil, food security and human health;

– Soil degradation processes (contamination, erosion, compaction, salinization, soil-water interactions);

– Soil in the digital era;

– Soil and climate change;

– Soil biodiversity ;

– Urban soils and sustainable cities;

– Research in the area of soils (national and European projects);

– Citizen science & literacy; 

– Organic matter and soil fertility;

– Recovery and remediation of degraded soils.

The meeting will take place at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, from the 3rd to the 5th of July 2024. The deadline for submitting abstracts is the 19th of May 2024, and must be done here.
