Lecture “Resource Exploitation and Environmental Impact: challenges from China’s rapid industrial expansion”

Next Wednesday, on the 19th, Professor Andrew Hursthouse from the University of the West of Scotland will give a lecture at the University of Aveiro titled: “Resource Exploitation and Environmental Impact: challenges from China’s rapid industrial expansion”.

This lecture (in English) will take place in room 29.1.3.2 (Seminar Room, Technological Laboratories) starting at 2:30 PM and is organized by the BPP Research Group – Biogeochemical Processes and Pollutants.

Brief biography of the speaker: Prof. Andrew Hursthouse, Professor of Environmental Geochemistry at the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of the West of Scotland, is an environmental geochemist, applying an “earth-systems” approach to research which covers the transport/behaviour of pollutants in the environment (air quality, land degradation and remediation, and aquatic biogeochemistry), evaluating their impact on ecosystems and implications for human health.
