Call for expressions of interest in International Science Council global science-policy work

The International Science Council (ISC) is seeking for experts to contribute to critical global science-policy work in the multilateral space focusing on one or more of the 20 key areas that are prominent on the United Nation’s (UN) agenda.

Deadline: 29 February 2024

The ISC will draw on this roster of experts throughout 2024 and beyond to:

– Provide ad-hoc science advice to the UN secretariat and UN Member States;

– Prepare high-level briefs for the UN Secretariat and UN Member States;

– Develop statements on behalf of the international scientific community;

– Provide recommendations of speakers for high-level debates and panels for policy-making audiences.

The key priority topics in 2024 include:

– Science for action

– Foresight

– Science diplomacy

– Sustainable development and finance for development

– Youth and future generations

– Global stocktaking on sustainable energy

– Sustainable transport

– The International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development

Among others, together with the UN SDG Goals 1, 2, 13, 16 and 17.
