Do you want to be the next EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassador?

The European Commission has launched the second call for EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors aiming to raise awareness about the sustainable circular bioeconomy and engage with youth communities on the opportunities that bioeconomy offers for our society. EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors are individuals eager to reach out to local communities, students, and civil society, and to engage decision-makers.

The first group of the EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors was selected in 2022. As an EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassador, you:

  • Will be called to support the European Commission (EC) in promoting EU bioeconomy in society, especially amongst youth communities;
  • May contribute to the EC Youth Check Process, Youth Policy Dialogue and Youth Advisory Board;
  • Will be encouraged to support the EC in bioeconomy events;
  • Will work in a team with other fellows of EU Bioeconomy Youth ambassadors;
  • Wil engage with fellows EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors in physical summer and winter camps.

The future EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors should be:

  • Between 18-30 years old;
  • A resident in one of the 27 EU countries;
  • Committed to make positive change and is passionate about bioeconomy;
  • Experienced or interested in bioeconomy or bioeconomy-related fields (e.g., biotechnology, food systems, bio-based sectors, forestry, agriculture, fisheries, nature-based solutions, blue bioeconomy, rural development, ecosystem services, climate change, biodiversity);
  • A team player and good communicator, willing to use blogs/videos/social media posts/performances and written articles to raise awareness of bioeconomy;
  • Comfortable with public speaking, expressing their views coherently in written or through other form of expression;
  • Communicate fluently in English (CEFR-level C1);
  • Committed to devote time to the Ambassador programme.
