Deadline: 10th November 2023
Nominations are now open for the New European Bauhaus Awards 2024. This initiative will honour innovative and exemplary projects by young talents, organised into four categories:
- Reconnecting with nature;
- Regaining a sense of belonging;
- Prioritising the places and people that need it the most;
- Shaping a circular industrial ecosystem and supporting life-cycle thinking.
In each of the four categories, two parallel competition strands are established:
- Strand A: ‘New European Bauhaus Champions’ – will be devoted to existing and completed projects with clear and positive results;
- Strand B: ‘New European Bauhaus Rising Stars’ – will be devoted to concepts submitted by young talents aged 30 years old or younger. The concepts can be at different levels of development, from ideas with a clear plan to the prototype level.
Applications will be accepted from projects and ideas from Ukraine, as well as from EU member states and the Western Balkans. This edition will focus on projects and ideas from EU regions facing socio-economic problems or challenges in the dual ecological and digital transition. A total of 20 winners will be honoured, receiving prizes of up to 30,000 euros and a communication aid kit to develop and promote their projects and concepts. The winners will be announced during the New European Bauhaus Festival, which will take place in Brussels from 17 to 21 April.
