The BIOMAG project aims to develop a new technology based on magnetic bionanocomposites for the treatment of water and industrial effluents using a lower energy consumption separation process, with the goal to remove micropollutants that are not usually removed using the conventional technologies for the wastewater treatment, and contribute to an increase in the reuse of properly treated industrial water.
BIOMAG proposes an innovative technology that can be standardized according to the composition of the industrial water to be treated and that can therefore be adapted to treat effluents from various industrial sectors. The project has University of Aveiro as lead promoter and VentilAQUA S.A. as a co-promoter. The obtained results will contribute to a circular management of industrial water and to an acceleration in the transition for a circular economy.
