Concluding remarks

  • Functional link between protein aggregation, inflammation and autophagy in human pDCs allows the development of novel therapies against inflammatory conditions.
  • Modulation of immune cells and its interactions with other cell types allows to take advantage of immune responses for novel regenerative therapies.
  • Functional intersection between autophagy and TLR signaling in human pDCs function enables development of novel therapies against infections or to treat autoimmune diseases.
  • CAL-1 cells are a good cell model for pDC activation with immune complexes.
  • The interaction between vMIA and MFF at the peroxisomal membrane is essential for vMIA’s-dependent inhibition of the antiviral immune response.
