In 2022, Feedzai and the University of Aveiro were the Portuguese institutions with the highest number of European patent applications filed, highlighting the strategic importance attributed to protecting research and development results. Considering that much still needs to be done in this field, UACOOPERA, as the knowledge transfer and protection office of UA, is organizing a hybrid event under the theme “Patent as a Tool for Value Creation” on June 7th, at 2:00 pm.

This event will feature presentations from the National Institute of Industrial Property (Susana Armário), UACOOPERA (Marta Marques), and Feedzai, framing the theme from an institutional, academic, and business perspective, followed by a roundtable discussion on the role of “Patents: from research to competitiveness,” bringing together the previous participants and two UA researchers, Paula Marques and Mara Freire, with the latter also assuming the role of entrepreneur.
