On March 8th, an information session about the Azores Summer School (AzSS) will take place in the amphitheater of the Department of Biology (8.1.43) at 4:30 PM. This session, organized in partnership with GAD-CESAM (PhD Students’ Group) and NEB (Biology Students’ Group of the University of Aveiro), will feature the presence of Sérgio Ávila, a professor at the University of the Azores and one of the organizers of the summer school. Entry is free and no prior registration is required.
The 2023 edition of Azores Summer School (AzSS) – Evolutionary processes of marine organisms in oceanic islands, will take place from July 9th to 21st on the island of Santa Maria in the Azores. This summer school is aimed at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as other researchers interested in research related to island ecosystems.
Applications for this summer school are open until April 30th and must be accompanied by the candidate’s curriculum vitae. Members of CESAM (Center for Environmental and Marine Studies) and other scientific organizations such as CIIMAR, CCMAR, or MARE can also apply for one of the 15 scholarships funded by FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation), which cover the accommodation and travel expenses of selected candidates.
