Between July 14 and 19, the “Earth Systems Summer School 2024” will take place in Aveiro, featuring various lectures and practical activities at the University of Aveiro, as well as field activities in Ria de Aveiro, Geopark Arouca, and Praia da Vagueira. This event, designed for Ph.D. and master’s students, will address the theme “Earth-Atmosphere-Ocean Interactions on a Planet in Transformation: Practical Approach in Earth Observation and Modeling.”

Pre-registration deadline: March 1, 2024. For applications received by this date, priority will be given to candidates in the first two years of their Ph.D. programs, aiming to maximize interaction among students from different scientific areas and institutions. After the pre-registration deadline, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The final deadline is May 31, 2024.

Applications should be sent via email to earthsystems@fc.ul.pt, including the candidate’s CV and a brief letter of motivation with the Ph.D. title, supervisors, and the year of the Ph.D.

The maximum number of admitted students is 35, and the registration fee is 300 euros. Aveiro students who do not require accommodation may benefit from a reduced fee of 180€.
