On June 27, from 2:00 PM to 5:45 PM, the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting will organise a hybrid event as part of the EU Green Week 2024. The event will take place at the Water Museum in Almada and will be entitled: “Sustainable Water Infrastructures: impact on personnel qualification throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.”

During this event, the following topics will be addressed:

• The national and European landscape in water resilience and the main challenges;

• How the industry is facing the challenges related to water regarding the maintenance of its water infrastructures and management of its water resources;

• The importance of considering sustainability principles throughout the lifecycle of water infrastructures, from initial design and construction to operation and maintenance;

• The role of education and professional development programmes in equipping workers with skills to meet the demands of sustainable water infrastructure projects;

• Sharing case studies that highlight successful approaches in integrating sustainability considerations into personnel qualification frameworks and training initiatives.
