Training Course: Quality and Cleaning of Biodiversity Data

22/07/2024
24/07/2024

This theoretical and practical course will take place on 22-24 July at the Department of Life Sciences, Room 2.1, Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, in Coimbra. It will cover various topics, including data quality principles and their application through practices of data detection and cleaning, with practical examples. Data quality is one of the most important aspects that determine the potential use of a data set. This quality is determined by multiple factors that integrate the chain of information production and processing, from initial recording or capture to final use and interpretation. The quality of biodiversity data is equally associated with its various dimensions, from taxonomy to spatial information, metadata, storage, and publication.

Registrations are open until 15 July through the registration form.
