Algae are an untapped source of compounds with proven benefits for health and nutrition. Beyond providing essential nutrients, algae are also rich in phytochemicals known for their bioactive properties. Many of these bioactive compounds remain largely unexplored, yet they hold tremendous potential for innovative applications across diverse industries. 

To spotlight this potential, the University of Aveiro, in collaboration with the “Pacto da Bioeconomia Azul” (Project No. 16, Application No. C644915664-00000026), is hosting the workshop “Unlocking Algae Bioactives for Health, Sustainability, and Innovation”. This online event will take place on December 4, 2024, and will dive into the wealth of bioactive compounds in algae, exploring their role in promoting health, advancing sustainability, and driving industrial innovation.
