The ”La Caixa” Foundation is offering 30 fellowships to doctoral studies at any university or research centre in Spain or Portugal. This call covers all areas of knowledge and is aimed at all individuals who fulfil the requirements to be admitted into a doctoral programme and that they have not previously enrolled in any doctoral studies. The fellowships are effective when the candidates and the host institutions reach an agreement regarding their recruitment. After, the host organisation will hire the fellow using the funds provided by the ”la Caixa” Foundation. Below are important details that are thoroughly presented in the call guide:
- Fellows should start at the host institutions between September and November 2024 (except in duly justified cases);
- The fellowship has a maximum duration of four years;
- Applicants must hold a higher education degree that makes them eligible to enrol in a doctoral programme before starting at their host institutions;
- Candidates must not have been enrolled in a doctoral programme prior to the start of the fellowship;
- Applicants must accredit their proficiency in the English language by submitting a certificate (exceptions apply);
- On the deadline for applications, applicants must still be within the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers;
- Candidates must have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of destination (Spain/Portugal) for more than twelve months in the three years immediately prior to the deadline for applications;
- Candidates who are awarded a fellowship must enrol in a doctoral programme at a university that is different from where they took up their bachelor’s studies.
