The 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award is now open, inviting submissions of innovative projects that utilize the historical information preserved by Arquivo.pt. The call is open to all interested individuals or groups. Participants can win prizes ranging from €2,000 to €10,000.

Description

The call will reward original and innovative works that demonstrate the usefulness of the Arquivo.pt service and the importance of preserving and using information published on the web. The works must have Arquivo.pt as the main source of information, and be practical applications or complete research studies based on information preserved on the web by Arquivo.pt.

Eligibility

The Call is open to all interested parties, whether individuals or groups, but applications must be submitted in the name of a single responsible person.

Awards

The three best classified works will be awarded prizes:

• 1st place: 10 000 €
• 2nd place: 3 000 €
• 3rd place: 2 000 €

As in previous editions, the Arquivo.pt 2025 Prize will also award several honorable mentions. One of them is the awarding of projects focused on Portuguese online media, with a prize of 500 €. Also, Público newspaper, will distinguish works focusing on content from this publication, preserved on Arquivo.pt, by rewarding them with a two-year subscription to Público online.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted by completing the form available in Portuguese at https://arquivo.pt/premio

Each application must include:

• A Summary Description of the work that presents its social and scientific impact, the relevance of using Arquivo.pt, originality and the state of realisation of the application. This Summary Description should be drawn up following a template that is available as a supplement to the form;
• A 3 min. video that complements the Summary Description using audiovisual resources. This video can be sent as an attachment to the application form.
