Call open for Short Term Scientific Missions and Dissemination Conference Grants in the frame of the MARGISTAR Cost Action

17/03/2024

The MARGISTAR CA will fund Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSM) and grants for dissemination conferences aiming to foster sustainability of mountainous areas, and, in particular, with periphery traps, visions of post-marginalised futures, and transformation pathways in, of, and for mountain areas.

Deadline: 17 March 2024

A STSM is a visit to a host organisation located in a country different from the country of affiliation of the researcher or innovator for specific work to be carried out and for a determined period (between 5 to 180 days). In the context of this call, STSM must occur between 1 May and 30 September 2024 anywhere in the world, and the grant contributes for traveling, accommodation, and subsistence expenses, implementation of the project, delivery of the report to the COST Action Management Committee, and overall effort.

MARGISTAR is also funding grants to support researchers in attending dissemination conferences in 2024. This call applies to conferences occurring no later than September 30, 2024. These Dissemination Grants are intended for Young Researchers and Innovators under the age of 40, affiliated with a legal entity according to the Annotated Rules for COST Actions.

The main subject of the STSM and the Dissemination Grants must be in line with the scope and topics of MARGISTAR. These relate to the sustainability of mountainous areas (e.g., natural, environmental, social, and economic inter-relationships and interactions in mountainous areas, and environmental, social, economic, and political challenges of mountains), and in particular with periphery traps, visions of post-marginalised futures, and transformation pathways in, of and for mountain areas.
