CO-OP4CBD (Cooperation for the Convention on Biological Diversity) is looking for thematic experts to participate in shaping science-policy processes for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in the EU and Associated Countries.
The initial formative workshops are scheduled for September 2023. CO-OP4CBDare currently seeking experts to volunteer their time for training on CBD procedures and lend their expertise to thematic groups after that. These groups will provide valuable input on CBD agenda items and it will serve as the opening call for experts within the four-year project, ultimately establishing thematic expert groups that foster the science-policy interface in Europe.
In agreement with the topics announced for SBSTTA-25, CO-OP4CBD is currently seeking expertise in Biodiversity indicators and monitoring, Biodiversity and ecosystem services, Sustainable wildlife management, Invasive alien species, Biodiversity and climate changes and Plant conservation.
The selected experts will have the opportunity of:
- Gaining a deeper understanding of the CBD process;
- Actively contributing to the development of biodiversity policies;
- Attending to tailored training programs to enhance their ability to contribute effectively to the CBD, based on your specific area of expertise;
- Having the chance to connect with fellow researchers in their field and stay updated with the latest advancements in CBD-related matters.
