15/05/2025

Deadline: 15 May 2025

The Einstein Forum, in partnership with the Wittenstein Foundation, has launched the call for their annual Einstein Fellowship programme. The fellowship offers outstanding young researchers the opportunity to engage in a project beyond their original area of specialisation. The fellowship provides a 10 000 € stipend, along with travel expense reimbursement and accommodation in Germany (5-6 months).

Objectives

The objective is to encourage interdisciplinary working and support researchers who, in addition to producing work in their area of specialisation, are looking to expand their thinking across disciplinary boundaries to pursue a project that is significantly different from their previous work in terms of content, field and/or form.

Successful fellows will have access to academic institutions in both Potsdam and Berlin, in Germany.

Eligibility

The programme welcomes applications from researchers worldwide who are under 35 years old and hold a university degree in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences. PhD candidacy or completion is not a requirement for eligibility.

Please note that no fellowships will be given for dissertation research. The proposed project must be significantly different in content, and preferably field and form, from the applicant’s previous work.

Funding & Duration

The fellowship provides a 10 000 € stipend, along with travel expense reimbursement and accommodation for five to six months. Fellows are expected to propose and work on a specific project, though the project need not be completed during the fellowship period.
