The MSCA Doctoral Networks aim to train entrepreneurial, innovative and resilient doctoral candidates, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and societal benefit. There are three different implementation modes: Standard Doctoral Networks (DNs), Joint Doctorates (JDs) and Industrial Doctorates (IDs).
The results of the project are expected to contribute to the following outcomes:
For the supported PhD candidates:
New transferable research skills, leading to improved employability and career prospects within and outside academia;
New knowledge enabling the conversion of ideas into products and services, where relevant;
Networking and communication skills with colleagues as well as the wider public that will increase and broaden the impact of research and innovation.
For participating organisations:
Improving quality, relevance and sustainability of doctoral training programmes and supervision arrangements;
Enhanced co-operation and knowledge transfer across sectors and disciplines;
Greater integration of training and research activities between participating organisations;
Reinforcement of R&D capacity;Increased internationalisation and attractiveness;Regular feedback of research results to teaching and education in participating organisations.
