Deadline: January 31, 2024

The “la Caixa” Foundation is launching the 6th edition of the Promove Program competition in partnership with the Foundation for Science and Technology, aimed at boosting Portugal’s inland regions with frontier dynamics that can be replicated in other regions with similar characteristics. This edition supports three types of initiatives: innovative pilot projects, mobilizing R&D projects and ideas with the potential to become innovative pilot projects.

Initiatives will be supported from entities that intend to develop projects in areas that fall under Ordinance no. 208/2017, of July 13, as long as they fall under one or more of the thematic areas covered by the Call.

In the case of the call for pilot projects and the call for ideas, the Program will support projects in the field of natural risk prevention, the creation or consolidation of business activity and innovation hubs and the enhancement of symbolic capital. In the case of the mobilizing R&D projects competition, the Programme will support integrated projects in the fields of thermal waters as a natural resource and with therapeutic applications, parks and nature reserves, as well as natural spaces of environmental importance, studies on biological risks, including pests and diseases of agricultural and forestry crops, development, promotion and enhancement of new crops and natural products for the national and international market.

In the previous edition, CESAM had a winning project Soil@int by the researcher Rita Torres.

Applications are open until January 31, 2024 via the “la Caixa” Foundation’s application platform.
