On 26 April, the second Horizon CBE JU 2023 Call was launched, with 18 topics up for tender (there are several project modalities) and an overall budget of €215.5 million. The deadline is 20 September 2023. 

The Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is a €2bn public-private partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium, which funds projects to promote circular and competitive bio-based industries in Europe. CBE JU operates under the rules of Horizon Europe, the EU’s R&I programme, for the period 2021-2027. 

This partnership builds on the success of its predecessor, the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU), while addressing current challenges facing the industry.
