Diana Vieira completed the PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering in 2015 by the University of Aveiro, MSc. in Environmental Engineering in 2008 by University of Aveiro and BSc. in Environmental Engineering in 2007 by Instituto Politécnico de Leiria. Currently working as a Researcher at Joint Research Centre at European Commission.
Published more then 25 articles in peer-review journals. Has 1 book section, received 5 awards, and has an H-index of 12 (Scopus). During her research path, she was the Principal investigator of the FEMME project and supervised 2 PhD theses, 2 postdoctoral researchers, and 4 MSc fellows. Also, co-supervised 4 MSc dissertations, Co-supervised 2 works of course completion of LSc/BSc. Participated in 9 projects as Master, PhD, and as Pos-doctoral Fellow, and organized 6 international scientific events.
Since 2009 she was also affiliated in Centro de Investigación Forestal de Lourizán, Instituto Superior Técnico and University of Aveiro. She also did a research stay in Investigación Forestal de Lourizán (2011), and a short scientific mission in Wageningen University & Research (2018).
Currently she is dedicated to large scale post-fire soil erosion modelling, land degradation, healthy soils, and the assessment, fate, and remediation of soil pollution in EU soils.
